A new poll published on Saturday confirms recent findings that show Greece’s main opposition New Democracy leading governing SYRIZA by a large margin.
The latest poll by Metron Analysis for Greek daily “Ta Nea” puts New Democracy more than 10 percentage points above SYRIZA.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ party gets 36.7 percent while SYRIZA follows at 22.6 percent.
Centrist Movement for Change is at 9.9 percent followed by extreme right Golden Dawn at 8 percent, the Communist Party at 6.8 percent and Centrist Union at 3.2 percent.
According to an earlier poll released on Thursday, New Democracy has widened its lead over the governing SYRIZA party to 12.5 percentage points.
Analysts say the findings are significant as the surveys were carried out after the agreement signed with FYROM on the naming dispute and the deal on debt relief.
