Opposition New Democracy (ND) maintains a steady lead over governing SYRIZA according to a new poll by Metron Analysis for Sunday Vima newspaper.
The survey shows that ND gets 34.9 percent of the voting intentions, with SYRIZA following almost 10 percentage point behind at 25.2 percent.
The poll was conducted on a sample of 2,302 Greek voters after the breaking of the scandal of 10 of the country’s top politicians accused of accepting bribes from the Swiss pharmaceutical firm Novartis.
According to the poll, extreme-right Golden Dawn is in third place of voting preferences with 9.4 percent, followed by centre-left Movement for Change with 8.4 percent.
The Communist Party gets 7 percent and the Centrists Union 3 percent.
Junior government party, Independent Greeks (ANEL) fails to get the 3 percent required to get into the next parliament.
