The Greek Army is setting up a makeshift camp to provide accommodation to the residents that lost their homes in the deadly fires in the resort town of Mati.
Soldiers were seen raising the first tents on Wednesday and handing out food and water to the fire victims.
According to preliminary estimates, almost 3,000 homes were destroyed in the blaze. Some were holiday homes, but most appear to have been permanent residences.
Local hotels and municipal buildings are also providing accommodation for those in need.
