Heatwave Hits Greece

A heatwave is set to hit Greece from Tuesday, July 17, with temperatures rising as high as 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) in some parts of the country.

Meteorologists say that the heatwave will last for at least three days. Central and western parts of the country will be particularly affected.

In Athens, temperatures are not expected to rise above 36 degrees Celsius.

The coolest regions will be the north of the country, the Aegean islands and Crete where temperatures are not expected to rise above 35 degrees Celsius.
