Residents of Thessaloniki got a ssssurprise this weekend when they saw a woman walking down the street with a large snake draped around her neck.
Greek media report that the woman decided to take her pet, a two-year-old female boa constrictor, out for a walk.
Experts warn that placing such a reptile around the neck could be dangerous. If it constricts — its favored method of killing prey — restriction of the blood flow in the carotid artery would render someone unconscious very quickly. Also its bite could cause serious damage.
