The Aegean island of Syros was swept away by tango tunes and dancing last weekend as world-renowned international performers and artists participated in the fourth annual Syros Tango Festival.
The festival begun in 2015 when tango lovers from many dance academies in Greece assembled on the island for a get-together and a series of performances.
Since then it has become an important addition to the agenda of world-famous dancers and musicians that also take the opportunity to explore the beautiful island.
This year dancers from as far as Honolulu, Chicago, New York and Malaysia, joined their Greek and European colleagues for performances that captured locals and tourists alike.
Some of the artists took part for the first time and organizers hope that more will come to Syros for next year’s event.
Among the artists were Ivan Talanin’s Orchestra “TANGO EN VIVO”, Natalia Hills and Alejandro Aquino, Eleonora Kalganova, Rojer Zalazar & Christina Sarioglou, Gabriel Marino & Vassia Thanopoulou, Loukas Balokas & Georgia Priskou, Dionisis Theodoropoulos & Chloe Theodoropoulou.
