Vasilis Triantafillidis, one of the most popular stand-up comedians in Greece, best known by his artistic nickname Harry Klynn died in Thessaloniki on Sunday at the age of 78.
The artist’s health had deteriorated in recent months and he was wheelchair-bound. His relatives say that his health took a dive following the premature death of his son.
On Sunday evening he was rushed to a local hospital where he died.
Klynn became a huge star in Greece in the 70s. Thousands turned up in theaters throughout Greece to watch his performances.
Klynn, was born in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki in 1940. His parents were refugees form Pontus in today’s northern Turkey.
