Snow has covered many parts of central and northern Greece, and meteorologists predict that temperatures will continue to plummet in the final stretch towards Christmas.
In some areas of Thessaly and Macedonia, it has been snowing since Tuesday and snow plowing vehicles are keeping the roads open in the mountainous regions.

Snow has fallen in the towns of Lamia and Larissa; and Mount Parnitha, just north of Athens, is also dressed in white.

Police is advising drivers to take extra care, as many city dwellers are planning on travelling for the Christmas holidays.
