Greece’s health authorities announced a total of four new confirmed coronavirus cases on Monday and one new death in the last 24 hours.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Greece, the total number of cases has now reached 2,882; slightly over half (55.2 percent) of those infected are men. Of the total cases, 627 concern individuals infected during travel abroad and 1,640 people who were infected in Greece.
Eighteen people with Covid-19 are currently in hospital intensive care units at the moment. Their median age is 69 years and five of them are female. An overwhelming majority (83.3 percent) have an underlying health issue or are aged 70 or over.
Another 101 individuals have been discharged from intensive care units since the pandemic’s outbreak.
In addition, Greece registered another death due to the virus since Sunday, bringing the total number of Covid-19 casualties to 172, of whom 51 were women. Their median age was 76 years, and 94.8 percent had an underlying health issue and/or were 70+ years old.
