The cosmopolitan Greek island of Mykonos was hit particularly hard by the weather front “Hephaestion” which swept through Greece earlier in the week.
The extreme weather conditions which have been experienced across much of Greece since Sunday night caused major problems, with power outages experienced in some areas and damage to structures and roadways throughout the island.
Trees were uprooted and some roads were seriously damaged as winds of up to 10 Beaufort also hit “Little Venice,” the beautiful seaside area very popular with tourists, located across the old harbor, in the island’s capital.
