At Least Six Dead as Unprecedented Weather Conditions Hit Greece

At least six people died as severe gale-force winds, rain and hailstorms struck the Halkidiki region on northern Greece late on Wednesday, authorities said.

A woman was killed as a roof collapsed, while a couple lost their as extreme winds flipped their RV. Also, a 39 year-old man with his two year-old son died from a tree that fell onto their vehicle.

Many structures have been severely damaged.

Local media described the phenomena as unprecedented in Halkidiki and especially during summer.
