A Greek ferry battled with the waves on Sunday while approaching the port of the island of Naxos, as gale force winds of up to 8 Beaufort swept the Aegean.
The captain of “Paros Jet” stabilized the vessel carrying hundreds of passengers as it tilted violently from left to right. He waited for the all-clear from the authorities before it entered the port, where other ships were docked.
All passengers disembarked safely.
Meanwhile, the Hellenic Seamens’ Federation (PNO) has declared a 24-hour strike on Wednesday, July 3rd.
The Federation decided to proceed with strike action as their demands were not satisfied in a recent proposal by shipowners regarding collective labor agreements.
