The weather across Greece is finally forecast to improve and become more seasonal after a long rainy period when temperatures throughout the nation stayed at levels well below the average for the season.
According to the Meteo service of Athens’ National Observatory, it will finally feel like Spring has arrived across Greece beginning at the start of Holy Week. (Meteorological Spring began on March 20 this year).
The weather in the coming days will show a marked improvement over the cool, blustery weather experienced in the past weeks, with temperatures soaring up to 26C.
Temperatures will climb even higher after Holy Wednesday, but will also be accompanied by African dust, which will blow in over the Mediterranean. The dust will fall mostly in the western parts of the country.
