Two tremors were recorded earlier on Friday under the seabed near the island of Karpathos, which were felt on Karpathos and the island of Rhodes.
The first quake, measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, was recorded at 12:29 AM on Friday (1029 GMT Thursday) with an epicenter 36 km (22 miles) northwest of Karpathos and at a depth 10km (6.2 miles).
The second quake, at 3.9 on the Richter scale, was recorded three minutes later, with an epicenter 42 km (26 miles) north of the island of Karpathos.
There have been no reports of injuries or damage.
